Educator's of the Year
I have debated posting this since I saw it last week, and ultimately decided to do so for a couple of reasons:
First: writing is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly. Mistakes happen, but writing something and abandoning it is unwise.
Now to the reasons for the post:
1 - I'm offended that an "educator" would post this.
2 - I'm doubly offended that a Superintendent - a leader of teachers - would post this.
3 - If the author had responded to the comment that was left (not by me), I would have thought differently. If you're going to have a blog with comments, engage and allow those commenters. If you're not going to have comments, that's fine, too.
4 - You're marketing your schools! Homebuyers are researching schools prior to buying; this post on the Greene County schools site would impact my buying decision and likely would others' as well.
Finally, I think it's fantastic that the leader of schools is writing and blogging publicly. It is only a blog post, but it's one that shouldn't have been posted as is and absolutely shouldn't be left up unedited for nearly a week.
